Postal strike leads to record-breaking success for local courier business

The following is a preview from CBC’s All in a Day with Alan Neal

We started this company, my co-founders and I, about five years ago, and our goal was to build a technology platform for small to medium business, so that they could outperform Amazon on local delivery, right?

I wanted to level the playing field. I didn’t feel that it was fair that the favourite store on the favourite street of your favourite neighbourhood couldn’t move products as fast as, say, a Walmart or an Amazon. And so the merchants that we’ve been servicing for the last five years are, indeed, you know, the retail stores that are the fabric of our local economy.

But, with this strike, as a start-up, it was an incredible piece of advertising for us. One of the hardest things for us is to get recognized.

And yes, we have thousands of merchants across Canada, but this strike has now had a lot of them that weren’t our merchants scrambling to find a solution. And here we are sitting, waiting, and ready to help them seize the moment.
