Switching from “Same-Day Local Delivery” to the new Trexity app

If you installed Trexity through our older app called “Same-Day Local Delivery,” this article explains what changes when you switch to the new Trexity app — and how to make the move safely.

The new app was rebuilt from the ground up so everything happens inside Shopify Admin. No more logging in and out of a separate Trexity portal to schedule a pickup or check on a delivery.

The short version

Three things change for the better.

1

You stop leaving Shopify

Setup, deliveries, analytics, and settings all live inside Shopify Admin. The Trexity Merchant Portal isn’t part of your day-to-day anymore.

2

Deliveries schedule themselves

The old app left every shipment as a draft until you scheduled it. The new app picks batch or just-in-time based on your prep time and sends deliveries to drivers automatically — you can still override any of it per order.

3

Everything on the order page

Every Trexity order gets a panel on the Shopify order details page with live status, Print label, Cancel, Put on hold, and Skip batching. No separate portal for any of it.

What’s different, feature by feature

The old app split your work between Shopify and the Trexity Portal. The new one keeps it all in one place.

What migrating looks like

You don’t lose anything. Your Trexity account, your locations, your past deliveries and receipts, and your billing card all stay exactly where they are. What you’re changing is the piece of software that connects Shopify to your account.

Nothing to re-enter. Account, locations, history, and billing all carry over.
1

Install the new Trexity app

Grab it from the Shopify App Store.

2

Complete the six-step setup

If we detect your existing Trexity account, confirm with a 4-digit code emailed to that account — no password. All your locations, billing, and settings carry over.

3

Run a delivery test on the review step

Preview exactly what your customers see at checkout for a real address, without placing an order.

4

Go live in the new app

You control when the switchover happens.

5

Uninstall “Same-Day Local Delivery”

Any orders already in flight keep flowing — they’re Trexity shipments and don’t depend on the old app being installed to complete.

Using carrier-calculated shipping (CCS)?

Shopify uses whichever app registered the carrier service most recently. The new app registers as “Local Delivery – Trexity” so checkout shows one Trexity option, not two. If you ever see two rates side by side, remove the old carrier service from Shopify’s shipping settings.

Frequently asked

Will my customers see any downtime at checkout?
No — the new app registers the carrier service as part of setup, before you go live. You control when the switchover happens.
Do I have to change my Shopify plan?
The new app needs the same Shopify plan the old one did (Grow or higher) to show live rates at checkout. If you were already offering Trexity as a checkout option, you’re fine.
Does pricing change?
No. Delivery pricing is the same per-delivery rate you already know — based on distance and service level. There’s no new subscription or monthly fee, and your billing card carries over.
What happens to shipments already in progress?
Nothing. Those deliveries are Trexity shipments and finish normally even after you uninstall the old app.
Can I go back?
Yes, for now. You can reinstall the old app and your Trexity account and history won’t change. Longer term we plan to retire the old app, so we’d recommend switching when it’s convenient rather than putting it off. If something in the new app is blocking your team, email us — we’d rather fix it than have you stay behind.
I use the “Create delivery” admin link from Shopify order pages. Does that still work?
The new app builds this into the Trexity panel on every Shopify order page — one click, no leaving Shopify. You don’t need the admin link anymore.

Making the switch today
